How to make an essential oil spray bottle
There are very few supplies needed for making essential oil spray bottles depending on the recipe you are using.

What are the materials needed for a DIY body spray?
Like I said previously, there are very few supplies that are needed.
- Essential oils
- Glass spray bottles for essential oils
- Witch hazel
- Water- I use distilled water, but you can also use boiled and cooled filtered water.
How to make essential oil spray bottles.
- Start with the 4 oz glass spray bottle
- Add in about 30 drops of essential oils (depending on the recipe)
- Put in 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- Fill the rest of the way with water
- Put back on the glass spray bottle top and shake well
That’s it! These essential oil spray bottles are just another easy way to start incorporating using essential oils into your daily routine, so you can enjoy all the therapeutic benefits.
10 Best Essential Oil Spray Bottle Recipes
Now that you know how to easily create these non-toxic recipes, here are some of the best recipes you can use when learning how to make spray bottles.
1. Happy Body Spray Recipe
To make this body spray:
- 8 drops Frankincense essential oil
- 8 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
- 6 drops Bergamot essential oil
- 6 drops Orange essential oil
- 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- fill 8 oz glass spray bottle the rest of the way with distilled water
- put on spray top and shake to mix well

2. Calming Bliss Body Spray Recipe
To make this body spray:
- 12 drops Lavender essential oil
- 12 drops Rose essential oil
- 6 drops Cedarwood essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)

- put on spray top and shake to mix well

3. Citrus Heaven Body Spray Recipe
To make this body spray:
- 10 drops Bergamot essential oil
- 7 drops Lemon essential oil
- 7 drops Tangerine essential oil
- 7 drops Orange essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- fill 8 oz glass spray bottle the rest of the way with distilled water
- put on spray top and shake to mix well

4. Room Freshener Spray Recipe
To make room spray:
- 20 drops Lemon essential oil
- 20 drops Melaleuca or tea tree essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- fill 8 oz glass spray bottle the rest of the way with distilled water
- put on spray top and shake to mix well
Before using this essential oil room spray, make sure to shake the bottle gently. You can spray into the air to freshen room and use as often as needed.
5. Lavender Room Spray Recipe
To make room spray:
- 40 drops of Lavender essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)

- put on spray top and shake to mix well

6. Clean Kitchen Room Spray Recipe
To make room spray:
- 20 drops Lemon essential oil
- 10 drops Melaleuca or Tea Tree essential oil

- 2 oz glass spray bottle
- 2 tbsp witch hazel
- 3 drops of Peppermint essential oil
- 3 drops of Lavender essential oil
- Fill with distilled water
Shake well before each use and use spray as needed to cool off.

8. On the Go Spray Recipe
To make on the go spray:
- 4 oz glass spray bottle
- 10 drops Lemon essential oil
- 10 drops Wild Orange essential oil
- 10 drops Tea Tree essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- fill the rest of the way with distilled water
Before using this essential oil spray, make sure to shake the bottle gently.
9. Sleep Spray Recipe
To make sleep spray:
- 4 oz glass spray bottle
- 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 10 drops Vetiver essential oil
- 10 drops Cedarwood essential oil
- 1 tbsp witch hazel (optional)
- Fill the rest of the way with distilled water
Before using this essential oil sleep spray, make sure to shake the bottle gently.

10. All-Purpose Cleaner Spray
To make cleaner spray:
- 16 oz glass spray bottle
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 2 cups distilled water
- 25 drops of essential oils (citrus, clove, tea tree, or eucalyptus oils)
Swirl it around to mix the ingredients, then use it right away or as needed.
As you can see, these recipes are not only easy to make, but they are also easy to use once they are made!
As an added bonus, these recipes often cost less than store bought alternatives that are made with ingredients that aren’t as natural.
