How does Rutgers accept transcripts? ›

Requesting Official Transcripts Electronically

You can upload your unofficial transcripts by logging into your application portal. If your institution is a sending member of Parchment, eScrip-Safe, or National Student Clearinghouse, Rutgers will be able to receive your official transcripts electronically.

A grade of C or better is usually required for Major or Minor courses, while General Requirement courses must only be passed with a D or better.

The admissions process at some colleges and universities requires an official transcript. Please remember that most colleges and universities won't accept unofficial transcripts, so please request your final transcript so that you can complete the admissions process.

With a GPA of 3.73, Rutgers requires you to be above average in your high school class. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, with a leaning toward A's. If you took some AP or IB classes, this will help boost your weighted GPA and show your ability to take college classes.

Students and alumni can order an official paper transcript via https://transcripts.rutgers.edu for a fee of $7.00 or $10 for Electronic Transcript. Current students can order up to two free transcripts per academic year (September 1 through August 31); veterans get free transcripts for life.

Falsifying and fraudulent use of school documents

It's also unlawful for anyone to use a falsified or altered diploma/transcript/GED with the intent to defraud or mislead another person. This offense is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year of jail time and $1,000 in fines.

Accept our offer of admission in the Rutgers Application Portal by June 1, pay your $150 enrollment fee, and view all required steps for a newly admitted Rutgers–Newark student at go.rutgers.edu/portal. Activate your Rutgers NetID at netid.rutgers.edu.

As they evaluate your academic performance throughout high school, colleges will look at both your overall GPA and the individual grades you received in your courses. Different high schools have different ways of calculating GPAs, including various weighting systems.

Log in to the myRutgers dashboard with your NetID and password. Go to the Documents tab within the widget and click the Requested button next to any document listed, which will bring you to the Financial Aid Student Portal. Click the Documents tab on the top menu to view and submit/upload all required documentation.

Transcripts and other academic records must be issued directly by the registrar's office of your previous school(s) and bear the official registrar's stamp or signature. All other security features must be intact. Unofficial records such as print-outs from student portals are not acceptable for admission review.
