Background

Pirate

Let me tell you a story about the infamous Captain 'Blueblood' the pirate, one of the most feared pirates who plundered ships on the trading routes on the high seas. And more specifically the story of his daughter, an accomplished smuggler and pirate on her own accord....

ms. Blueblood spent her youth under the patronage of her father who was commonly known as a pirate and smuggler of some notoriety. 'Captain Blueblood' was a mysterious master of subterfuge who managed to avoid local authourities attention with the luck of a rogue... and 'connections' with the 'underbelly' of various ports across his travels.

Her father insisted on training his daughter in hand to hand combat with the rapier from an early age. She was always a keen student in learning from her father and his crew... ms. Blueblood would be found climbing the rigging or swimming alongside at anchor. She was well accustomed to shipboard life. Her home had always been the sea...

One dark and stormy night Blueblood's ship came across a wreck that had broken up in the storm... there was a survivor recovered who was chilled to the bone and lucky to be still alive. A passenger aboard a sailing ship it was thought... a pale human foreigner who looked half starved and still yet living on some meager diet. Maybe been at sea for a long time by the looks of him...

The Far traveler turned out to be a strange warlock who revered an Undying Queen in a far realm that exists between the worlds... whatever that means. It sounded like a wonderful fairy tale at first... The warlock opened a new realm to ms. Blueblood during their voyage together, and an alien eldritch arcane art from another plane influenced the young lady. Alien eldritch magic became part of her training with and without her rapier, regardless she was always prepared for up close and personal encounters and proved herself a capable member of the crew on various smuggling and other adventures.

Bad Reputation

Bad Reputation... 'Blueblood'

If your character has a pirate background, you may select this background feature.

No matter where you go, people are afraid of you due to your reputation. When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offenses, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will not report your activity to the authorities.

Rogue

Dargon one eye was a known pirate who started a new chapter in his life with a new role of responsibility within the thieves guild.

Captain Blueblood and Dargon one eye were known to each other and had not found a need to cross swords for many years. After a while that counts for something, and Captain Blueblood got to see Dargon's charismatic side every now and then.

So when he went to source a trade, it was Dargon at the Low Table that Captain Blueblood would make contact... and his daughter he would entrust unto his care when she was caught smuggling and thrown into prison waiting sentencing.

It took a while for ms. Blueblood or simply 'Blueblood' to gain her freedom and it was Dargon who put in a good word for her in the Low Table... It was an opportunity to make new contacts and delve into the dealings of Tremont until she could rejoin with her father, Captain Blueblood.

Low Council

The Low Table

The Low Table is the primary governing body for the thiefes guild and relations with various pirates that use Tremont for their smuggling and fencing operations. They operate out of a nondescript warehouse in the middle of the district that connects to the undercity tunnels.

Most of the flop houses and many taverns are run by the Low Table and act as fronts for many fencing operations.

The Low Table is led by the Council of six

First Chairman – Dargon one eye. Ex pirate with a good understanding of delegation and choosing the right people for any given job. He is a charismatic father figure who genuinely cares for his little guild and enacts strict rules with strict punishments for breaking them.

Second Chair – Slade the Red – Slade was a thief that rose from the urchens of Tremont through the ranks.Slade was one of the best burglars and ran the roof runners who would rob the warehouses and merchant homes alike.

Third Chair – Hammar – Hammar is a dwarf missing his nose. He was also a fair handed enforcer, he ran the collectors, the group of rogues who collected tribute and protection money from various merchants and shipping companies

Fourth Chair – Silk – Silk runes the flop houses and brothels and is very protective of her girls.

Fifth Chair – Glandar Tapper – Glandar runs the taverns of Tremont keeping the taps flowing

Sixth Chair – Lord Gamar – A young lord and merchant in Tremont, Lord Gamar was the bridge between the guild and the merchants and the one who controls all the fencing operations throughout Tremont.

The operations were fairly fluid, only the Brothels were kept separate from the other parts of the guild. Many of the members would be moved form team to team, though some of the members began to specialize and work with one chair over others.
